Jubilee - Active Crossover Controls, Inputs and Outputs
This article will outline the physical features and inputs on the Jubilee Active Crossover. This crossover was designed so you can get the very most out of your Klipsch Jubilee speakers. This crossover is required in order to send audio to the Jubilee speakers.
Front of Active Crossover
- The front of the unit is very simple, and consists of a power button (toggle) with an LED overhead, a "Low Frequency (LF) Gain" knob and a "High Frequency (HF) Gain" knob.

Back of Active Crossover
The back of the Jubilee Active Crossover consists of the inputs and outputs, as well as some switches described below:
- On the far left, there is the "power input". Simply plug your power cable directly from this input into a wall outlet.
- To the right of the "power input" we see three switches, explained below:
- 1st Switch - Auto-On Switch: Placing this switch in the upward position will leave the Active Crossover "always on". This means you will need to manually power the unit on and off. Placing the switch in the downward position will allow the unit to power on and off as it receives signal.
- NOTE: The crossover will only remain in "Standby" for approximately 15-25 seconds. The unit will power off after this period.
- 2nd Switch - Input Bal/Unbal Switch: Placing this switch in the upward position will allow audio to be received using the "balanced inputs" (XLR), and placing the switch in the downward position allows for audio to be received using the "unbalanced inputs" (RCA).
- 3rd Switch - 0dB/-9dB PAD: Leaving this switch in the upward position will have no effect on your audio input. However, placing this switch in the downward position will provide a -9dB input reduction.
- Use this -9dB input reductions when you notice your Active Crossover is consistently clipping
- 1st Switch - Auto-On Switch: Placing this switch in the upward position will leave the Active Crossover "always on". This means you will need to manually power the unit on and off. Placing the switch in the downward position will allow the unit to power on and off as it receives signal.
- To the right of the three switches, you will see two "Balanced (XLR) Pre-amp Inputs". These are the right and left balanced inputs, respectively. This is where your audio source will connect when using XLR connection.
- NOTE: Balanced XLR is the ideal input/output type
- To the right of the two balanced (XLR) inputs, you will see two "Unbalanced (RCA) Pre-amp Inputs". These are labeled L and R. This is where your audio source will connect when using RCA connection.
- To the right of the two unbalanced (RCA) inputs, you will see the 8 "Balanced (XLR) Outputs". This is where you will send your source audio from the Active Crossover to your amplifier(s).
- NOTE: At this time, only the first 4 balanced outputs are active. The last 4 outputs were added for future capabilities, and have no function at this time.
- To the right of the 8 Balanced (XLR) Outputs, you will see 8 "Unbalanced (RCA) Outputs". You can also use these outputs to send the source audio from the crossover to your amplifier(s). However, XLR connection is preferred.
NOTE: The EQ/DSP on the crossover is active whether using Balanced or Unbalanced connections.
