Flexus Soundbar - Operating Modes (Core 100/200)
You can change operating modes of the Flexus Core soundbars by performing the following functions:
- Pressing and holding
SourceandVol +buttons on the bar and then short press of theBassbutton on the remote. - Press the Vol + button on the remote to toggle through all operating modes -
Consumer Mode (CONSUMER)→ Display Mode (DISPLAY)→ Retail Mode (RETAIL)→ Installer Mode (INSTALLER)→
- Long Press
Bass(>1 seconds) to confirm selection.
Modes explained below -
Consumer -
The Consumer Mode is the normal operating mode of the product. The product shall be in the Consumer Mode when shipped from the factory. Performing a “Factory Reset” shall also restore the operating mode of the product to the Consumer Mode.
If the device supports a BLE remote and has a built-in IR sensor, the IR sensor should be disabled by default when in this mode.
Display -
The Display Mode is an operating mode that has the following functional differences from Consumer Mode:
The Source Selection is locked to the ‘Aux’ Input.
NOTE: If ‘Aux’ input is not available use ‘Optical’.The default volume is to be set to a fixed level TBD by product testing, however as a starting point, use 6dB below the maximum volume setting. The default subwoofer level shall be set at the “0” or neutral setting.
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (or other wireless audio sources) are disabled.
Product key controls are disabled. Volume controls are also disabled.
Remote Control commands - IR, BLE, and otherwise - are disabled.
App integration should not function. For BLE devices, disable BLE. For Wi-Fi devices, ensure the system does not respond to App commands when in this mode.
Retail -
The Retail Mode is an operating mode that has the following functional differences from Consumer Mode:
The Source Selection is locked to the ‘Aux’ Input.
NOTE: If ‘Aux’ input is not available use ‘Optical’.The default volume is to be set to a level TBD by product testing for BestBuy to result in a 70dB max SPL, C-weighted, at 36” from the system. The default subwoofer level shall be set at the “0” or neutral setting.
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (or other wireless audio sources) are disabled.
Product key controls are disabled, except for “Volume Up” and “Volume Down”.
Remote Control commands - IR, BLE, and otherwise - are ignored, except for “Volume Up”, “Volume Down”, “Sub Up”, “Sub Down”.
Also allow “Surround <Channel> Up”, and “Surround <Channel> Down” if applicable.
If the device supports a BLE remote and has a built-in IR sensor, the IR sensor should be disabled by default when in this mode.
If there is no user interaction for 90 seconds, the volume and subwoofer level shall return to the default levels.
App integration should not function. For BLE devices, disable BLE. For Wi-Fi devices, ensure the system does not respond to App commands when in this mode.
Auto-Standby should be disabled.
Installer -
The Installer Mode is an operating mode that has the following functional differences from Consumer Mode:
Auto-Standby is disabled for all sources except TV source (HDMI-ARC). The system shall still respond to the CEC “Off” command from a TV.
Auto-On is disabled for all sources except TV source (HDMI-ARC). The system shall still respond to the CEC “On” command from a TV.
Turning on and off via CEC commands may be controlled by the user in the TV menu options. This will allow the user to decide whether or not to apply CEC commands to the system when the TV source is being used.
If the device supports a BLE remote and has a built-in IR sensor, the IR sensor should be enabled by default when in this mode.
Note: for proper implementation of Installer Mode, “Discreet On” and “Discreet Off” commands
