R-26PF/R-28PF Amplifier Removal Process
If you have an amplifier that needs to be removed or replaced in the R-26PF or R-28PF, please use the guide below for assistance. The removal of the amplifier should only take about 5 to 10 minutes.
Please Note: The pictured examples below are of the R-26PF. However, the process will be identical for the R-28PF as well.
- Unplug the unit from power and let it sit for a few minutes to allow the capacitors to discharge any remaining electricity
- Remove the screws from around the perimeter of the amplifier panel. There are 8 screws to remove in total. (Do not remove screws that are not on the perimeter as these hold the electronic boards to the plate)
- Once the screws have been removed, pull the amplifier panel out enough so that the wires connecting the amp to the speaker components are visible
- First, you will disconnect the set of wires highlighted below
- Note: This will be a clip-on connector with a small tab you will need to push/move so that the connection can be removed (it may be a bit of a tight fit to get in there)

- Once those are removed from the amp, you can then move onto the next set of wires that will need to be disconnected (highlighted below)
- Note: This will be the same clip-on style connector as the one before

- The amplifier should now be completely free from the speaker cabinet
- If you have a replacement amplifier, use the photos above for reference on where those wires plug in
