R-4B - How to Disable the Auto On/Off
Some of our soundbar models have an operation mode called "Installer Mode". Engaging this "Installer Mode" will completely disable the Auto On/Off functionality of the bar. This can be a desired feature for users who would rather manually power the soundbar on and off with each use.
Note: This Installer Mode is only functional on the first generation of the R-4B. These steps/firmware files are not compatible with the R-4B II
THESE STEPS ARE FOR THE R-4B SOUNDBAR ONLY:
There is an "Installer Mode" for the R-4B Sound Bar, but it requires a firmware update to be installed. The firmware update files are attached to this article (below).
Firmware Update Procedure:
- Copy the Installer Mode file attached to this article to an empty USB flash drive
- Unplug power from the soundbar
- Insert USB drive into the back of the soundbar
- Plug power into the soundbar
- On the front of the soundbar, the Dolby LED will turn on
- The other LEDs will start turning on one by one starting from the left
- When the update is complete, the LEDs will turn off and the three LEDs on the right will turn on
- Unplug power from the soundbar
- Wait 5 seconds and then plug power back in
Please note: For the R-4B model, if you would like to disengage the Installer Mode, you will need to install the Stock firmware (also attached) and follow the same installation instructions as above
