HD Wireless - One (or more) Speakers Dropping Out
Note: The first step of troubleshooting for HD Wireless systems is making sure that the firmware is up to date. The latest version for the HUB is 2.0.4 and the latest version for the speakers is 1.1.9. Updating firmwares to the latest version will likely resolve most issues.
To Check What FW Version The RP-HUB1 is On:
- Go into the Main Menu of the RP-HUB1 and select the Status menu
- Scroll down to "HD CONTROL CENTER FIRMWARE"
- Firmware version will be next to "Host Firmware"
- Host Firmware should show 2.0.4
To Check What FW Version The Speakers Are On:
- Go into the Main Menu of the RP-HUB1 and select the Status menu
- Scroll down to "SPEAKER STATUS"
- Press the left and right directional buttons on their remote to scroll through each speaker in the system
- The MCU FIRMWARE should show 1.1.9 for each speaker
If you need to update the firmware on the RP-HUB1 (HD Control Center), use this article for assistance - RP-HUB1 Firmware Update
If the speakers have a firmware update available, a dialog prompt within the HUB menu will appear advising of such.
If still experiencing dropouts:
- Is it just one speaker? Or multiple?
- Multiple speakers dropping out may indicate wireless signal interference. Check to see if there is any fish tanks, baby monitors, wireless routers etc. that could be causing the dropout through interference. If it is just one speaker dropping out, that may indicate damage/malfunction to the internal wireless chip of the speaker.
If there is no wireless signal interference, try a full factory reset on the speaker(s) experiencing the dropout
- On the back of the speaker, there is a "RESET" button (see below)
- Press and hold the RESET button for a full 30-45 seconds, you will hear a tone indicating it has been reset
- After resetting the speaker(s), you will need to set that speaker back up using the Setup menu within the Main Menu
- Note: Sometimes it's a good idea to just reset every speaker in the entire system and start fresh. It should only take a few minutes to reset and then set back up within the menu.
If still experiencing dropouts on the same speaker, warranty assistance may be required. For information on contacting our Product Support team, please see our article - How To Submit
