WA-2 Wireless Subwoofer Kit - Setup
Below, you will find instructions on how to set up your WA-2 Wireless Subwoofer Kit.
Please Note: The WA-2 Wireless Subwoofer Kit is only compatible with powered subwoofers that have the WA Port built into them. For a list of compatible powered subwoofers, please see our article - Which Models are Compatible with the WA-2?
- Decide where the subwoofer will go (refer to your subwoofer owner’s manual, or see our article - Where is the Best Location for My Subwoofer?)
- Note: Most receivers (and pre-amplifiers) have a line-level subwoofer output labeled Subwoofer Pre Out, Sub Out, SW Out, SUB, etc. If you have this, connect one end of the supplied audio cable to the subwoofer output on the receiver/pre-amp and connect the other end of the cable into the WA-2 transmitter. In the absence of a subwoofer output, connect the Left and Right channel Pre-Amp outputs from your receiver (if provided) to the transmitter
- Connect the cable from the WA-2 receiver to the “WA Port” on the back of the subwoofer. Carefully match the 4 pins of the cable to the corresponding 4 holes on the WA Port and gently push in until connected
- Note: Improper pin alignment can result in damage to the connector
As an example, the above photo shows the amplifier panel of the SW-115 subwoofer with the WA Port highlighted. In order for the WA-2 Wireless Kit to be compatible, the subwoofer MUST have this port included.
- Note: Improper pin alignment can result in damage to the connector
- Plug the supplied power supply cable into the WA-2 transmitter and plug the other end into an AC wall outlet
- Check to make sure the "Gain" switch (- | 0 | +) is in middle position (0)
- Note: This position is best to start with, as it matches the output voltage of most popular receivers and processors. Try moving the switch to the left (-) if the signal is too "hot" (loud). Or, try moving the switch to the right (+) if the signal is too "cold" (quiet)
- Turn your receiver/pre-amplifier on
- Turn the subwoofer power switch to the “On” or “Auto On” position
- The WA-2 transmitter and receiver should automatically “pair” (solid green LED’s); the subwoofer should now be operational
- Note: If you find that the WA-2 transmitter/receiver do not automatically pair, press and hold the pairing buttons on each unit until the LED status light turns solid
- You can use the supplied Velcro strips to attach the WA-2 receiver to the back of the subwoofer. Some subwoofers have two screws on the back of them that the receiver can attach to
