MCS - Charging issue
If your Austin, Nashville or Detroit speaker is exhibiting a charging issue, please try the following suggestions to get the speaker working again.
- In most cases this is due to a charging cable connection issue or due to the speaker going into "protect mode". The speaker can go into "protect mode" if the speaker's battery reaches or exceeds 45 degrees Celsius.
Check the charging cable/block
- Ensure that the cable is plugged and connected securely.
- If possible, try using a new/different USB C cable to charge the unit.
- If possible, try using a new/different charging block to charge the unit.
Try a different outlet
- In rare cases a power strip or wall outlet may be the cause of charging issues.
- Please try charging the unit on a different power-strip or wall outlet. Charging the speaker on a wall outlet directly can help eliminate the cause of the issue being a power strip.
Perform a factory reset
In the case that the charging issue is due to the speaker going into "protect mode", performing a factory reset will bring the speaker out of this mode.
- It is very important that the factory reset procedure be performed for the recommended amount of time. A 10 second long press of the buttons is required!
- To reset the Detroit speaker to factory settings please press and hold the Bluetooth and volume up buttons together for 10 seconds.
- You will hear the audio prompt - "Factory Reset" - the speaker has been reset.
